With the latest update of EN 60204-1:2018, Chapter 15.1 ("Socket-outlets for accessories") results in an apparently small, but all the more important change for the equipment of industrial switch-gear cabinets: With immediate effect, the standard requires the use of an residual-current device (RCD) with a rated residual current of maximum 30mA for circuits that supply sockets up to 20 Ampere rated current.
